All sports, in essence, are preceded by important historical contexts that contextualize the way in which each of them was created or even how it remains to this day. Fistball, in this context, symbolizes much of German culture. Understanding this phenomenon and getting to know it is important for us to keep alive its culture and the German tradition and the modality itself, which are often confused. This article seeks to report this relationship between German immigration in the city of Novo Hamburgo and the development of fistball in a society colonized by Germans that over the years has become one of the largest sports promoters in the state. This article is the result of an excerpt from a master's thesis, which used investigative qualitative research and interviews to collect data. It is undeniable to say that the strength of the Germans founded and strengthened the modality in the city, keeping a tradition alive for over a hundred years, boosting athletes and perpetuating the name of the club, the sport and the city, in all corners of the world.
